Why should I service my boiler every year?
Safety
Reduces the risk of your boiler developing deadly leaks of carbon monoxide – a ‘silent killer’ which is a fatal colourless and odourless gas that is difficult to detect.
It is also important to install a carbon monoxide detector in close proximity to the boiler. This will warn you of any presence of this gas and are inexpensive to buy. We can fit a carbon monoxide detector for only £50 or £25 if it is installed during a gas service.
Avoid costly breakdowns
Don’t wait for your boiler to break down in the middle of winter when you could be faced with having no heating or hot water and an expensive emergency call out fee.
Have your boiler serviced during the warmer months to ensure that they are in peak condition for when you will need them the most during the colder weather.
Maintain warranty
Your boiler warranty may become invalid if you do not have an annual boiler service by a registered gas engineer. Check your manufacturer warranty terms and conditions for further details.

During a service your boiler will be inspected, cleaned and adjusted, ensuring that it is working to full capacity and is energy efficient.
Signs that your gas boiler needs to be serviced sooner
As advised by Gas Safe, ask a Gas Safe registered engineer to service your appliance as soon as possible if you notice any of the following:
- Your gas appliance is not working properly
- Your appliance is burning with a lazy yellow flame instead of a crisp blue flame
- You can see black marks or stains on or around your gas appliances
- The pilot light keeps going out
- There is increased condensation in the room
